Sara Vecchi Art

Illustration Portfolio

In addition to my design work, I love creating hand-drawn art for book illustrations, commissions, my own art prints, enamel pins, and stickers. Most of my works are digital illustrations, but I do traditional media illustrations as well.

I am open for new work, so please contact me for any custom illustration requests!

People Illustrations

One of my favorite things to draw is people. I love attempting to capture the spectrum of human emotions through facial expressions and body language and to make my characters come across as relatable and natural.

A plus size mermaid done in shades of blue and green rests on her back with her hands behind her head. She has starfish covering her chest and her tailed curled up next to her.
a girl in a leather jacket, white shirt, and black jeans appears to be jumping sideways while shooting "finger guns" with both hands. There is text that says "double barreled finger guns of awesome" around her.
Bride of Frankenstein wearing a princess Leia slave costume with her torn tights and combat boots underneath and admiring how it looks.
Two children wave colored flags while following a robot in a mini parade.
A two page sample spread from a black and white graphic novel depicting King Midas asking for his gift of gold.

Corporate illustrations

I am fortunate enough to do some illustrations for my corporate clients in addition to just design work. These designs range from realistic drawings to cartoon characters. The drawing of a winery was for a bottle label, using the design as bespoke image displaying their beautiful vineyard. The lively cats show a brand mascot brought to life, using their existing design to inform a new drawing.

Pencil drawn illustrations or various fruits and vegetables and a jar of honey
Illustrations of sculptures found at Josephine Sculpture Park in Frankfort, KY. "Ze'ev with Cat" by Boaz Vaadia, "Suspended in Water or Air" by Emma McClellan, and "The Conversationalist" by Chakaia Booker
softly watercolored illustrations of strawberries, peaches, raspberries, and a dripping honeycomb.
A pencil drawing of a vineyard with a pond in front of a winery and a production barn.
Cartoon characters, a purple cat in a yellow shirt and blue pants, and a cat-girl in a colorful outfit, dancing in a vibrant city setting at night with neon lights.

Pop Culture

An exaggeratedly handsome image of Edward Cullen next to the quote "This is the skin of a killer, Bella."
A barbarian in a fur loincloth and leather boots, but also in a mesh tank top, sunglasses, and glow jewelry in front of a dance club background. He holds two axes with glowing handles. Text on the print reads "I would like to rave."
An eevee on a background divided into colored segments in the colors associated with each eevee evolution. Text says "Become who you were meant to be."
Loki pug with green flames behind
A small mothman hugs a swinging lightbulb. Text above says "love at first light."
gelatinous cube with the phrase "Mess with the Jiggle, You get the Sizzle" written on it

Animals

A digital painting of two brown horses, one with a brown mane and a white stripe down the center of its head and one with a black mane and white diamond on its forehead.
A white unicorn with shades of blue and purple in its mane. Gold and silver foil accents are in it's hair and horn.
An owlbear, a fantasty creature, sits in a dark forest with trees and glowing fireflies with its head turned backward to face the viewer.
A soft illustration of a bear in a party hat, leaning back on with its back paws held up in the air by its front paws.
A white back on a black background. It has cute round eyes and a little fanged smile.
Linework image of a rat wearing glasses. They wear a cozy sweater and hold a book and a steaming cup of tea.
